1P sling is the most simplistic single point sling there is but still very effective. The sling is designed so that you carry your weapon on the dominant side. The sling stays stationary and the sling swivel moves on the sling. This causes very little friction. You can adjust the sling fairly tight so that the stock is almost in your armpit.
This is a very natural and effective way to carry your weapon. The weight of the weapon is on your shoulder and the weapon hangs naturally on your side. It is very fast to get your sights on target this way. Just push the weapon away from you and the sling will guide the weapon to the right place.
